WHAT IS A SILENT RETREAT?
Awaken is a time of fellowship and then several hours of silence where you spend time with God (Father, Son, and Spirit) "alone together" with other women. It is a time of respite and time to slow down and allow the Spirit of God to awaken afresh in you. We will experience His presence in complete distraction free silence for a set period of time (full retreat is around 35 hours).
A distraction-free environment includes no communication with others (hugs are OK!), no access to electronic devices (we will power them down and put them in a safe place during the time of silence), and a remote location among nature to allow us to be intentional about listening to God.
We respectfully ask that you stay the entire time to honor the nature of this retreat. A contact phone number will be provided for any emergencies that arise in your absence.

MISSION AND BELIEFS
What we believe:
God has three equal parts: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All of God has existed before time began. Sin entered the world through Adam & Eve and created a separation between man and God that could only be closed by sacrifice. Jesus Christ (The Word of God Jn. 1:1-5) came to earth as a physical representation of God the Son. Jesus as the man (yet still God) died on a cross and was raised to life again to defeat sin and remove the separation it had created. Because of this, those who believe can live with Him for eternity after physical death. (Rom 10:9-10) God the Holy Spirit comes to live in those who believe and “openly declare that Jesus is Lord.” The Holy Spirit in us helps us communicate with God the Father. (Rom 8:26-27)
”In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.“ John 1:1-5 NLT
”If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.“ Romans 10:9-10 NLT

Our Mission:
To create an environment that allows women to hear the voice of God through solitude and silence. As Richard Foster says, “There is the freedom to be alone, not in order to be away from people but in order to hear the divine Whisper better. Jesus lived in inward ‘heart solitude.’ He also frequently experienced outward solitude.” We practice silence as a group: Being Alone Together. After Jesus and His disciples fed the 5,000, Jesus said to His disciples: “Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.” That is what we seek to do: allow women to get away to a remote place with the Lord and rest in His presence.
